What is Yod-He-Waw-He

The most sacred name of God the heavenly Father in the Hebrew Bible is יהוה‎‏. One of the example of the verses is in Exodus 6:2-3 of the old Hebrew Bible, “God spake to Moses and said, I am the Lord and I appeared unto Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob by the name of God Almighty, but by my name יהוה was I not known to them.” But the original pronunciation of יהוה is unknown because it said in Leviticus 24:11-14 of the English Bible, “The Israelitish woman's son said blasphemy against the name of the LORD, and cursed. And they brought him unto Moses. (His mother's name was Shelomith, the daughter of Dibri, of the tribe of Dan.)” And in the English book of Leviticus 24:15-16, God commanded Moses and said, “Speak unto the children of Israel, whosoever cursed his God shall bear his sin, and he that blasphemy the name of the LORD shall surely be put to death, and all the congregation shall certainly stone him, as well the stranger, as he that is born in the land, when he blasphemy the name of the LORD, shall be put to death.” Also, almost all of the Hebrew word יהוה was translated to the word LORD with all capital letters in the English Bible. And that is the reason why the common Jews didn't willing to pronounce this word because it's considered too sacred to be uttered, for avoiding an accidental blasphemy against it, and instead refer as HaShem, literally means "the Name". יהוה was pronounced by a high priest when the temple was still standing in Jerusalem. Since the destruction of Second Temple of Jerusalem in CE 70, this word is no longer pronounced and because its vocals isn't written in paleo-Hebrew and Aramaic caused it to lost its pronunciation many centuries ago. Common Jewish people substitute the name Adonai (My Lord) for this word.

The unvocalized Hebrew יהוה is having four English letters HWHY, its letter names are ‎ה‎ for He, ‎ו‎ for Waw, ‎ה‎ for He, and ‎י‎ for Yod. And early modern translators disregarded the practice of reading Adonai and its equivalents in the other languages in place of the Tetragrammaton and instead combined the four Hebrew letters of יהוה with the vowel points that, except in synagogue scrolls, accompanied them, resulting in the form of Jehovah which first took effect in works dated 1278 and 1303, and was adopted in the Bible translations of Tyndale and some other Protestant. There are so many people tried to translate the Hebrew word יהוה ‎‏and that's why it have many imaginary names like Yahweh, Jehovah, Jahweh, Yehovah, and many more. And still, there is no surely and right way to pronounce it because it have no vocals, but the fact? There is a time that the vocals and the pronunciation of the word Yod-He-Waw-He in the Hebrew is too sacred to be uttered.
